Hazaribag: Two months after the Municipal Council was formed, Hazaribag corporation has stepped up development works, civic services and administrative reforms across the city.Addressing a press conference on Sunday, deputy mayor Avinash Yadav said the corporation was working for the city’s overall development, stronger civic amenities and a transparent administrative system.Yadav said Rs 10 crore each had been earmarked for road and drain construction in the town, with Rs 2.5 crore received under the 15th Finance Commission.“The remaining funds would be used for more projects in all 36 wards, with tenders to be invited next month. “Efforts are being made to complete the project before the onset of monsoon,” he said.A monitoring group has been formed to ensure complaints raised by ward councillors are addressed within 24 hours. Tenders have also been issued for multiple projects under the 15th Finance Commission and Urban Transport head, launching 85 civic schemes.The long-pending L&T water treatment plant work has resumed, while pipeline extension in Kolghatti and nearby areas has been completed and testing begun.The corporation has intensified drain cleaning, garbage collection and waste disposal at Matwari.It has also shifted illegal vendors near Kalibari Market and Curzon Ground to a new vegetable market, repaired 60-80 street lights daily, and begun tendering for traffic lights at 10 major intersections. Pending works in Police Station No. 140 area are likely to restart within 15 days.
