Hazaribag: Nirmal Mahto Park, a popular public spot at the heart of the city, is set for a major makeover. The Hazaribag Municipal Corporation has launched a renovation and beautification drive at the facility which will include modern amenities and richer greenery.The beautification project was taken following a joint inspection by deputy commissioner Hemant Sati and municipal commissioner Om Prakash Gupta, who found several facilities in poor condition. After the visit, Sati directed the deputy municipal commissioner to prepare a comprehensive redevelopment plan.A team of assistant engineers, junior engineers and the garden superintendent has since been formed to draft a detailed blueprint. “The aim is to develop Nirmal Mahto Park into one of the finest urban parks in Jharkhand,” Gupta said.Under the plan, the defunct musical fountain will be restored with modern lighting and sound systems. The dinosaur zone, a favourite among children, will be redesigned in a more vibrant and realistic form. Play areas will be upgraded through repair and replacement of damaged swings and slides, while the closed food court will reopen with a fresh look.The entrance gate will be modernised and security strengthened through repaired CCTV cameras and new high-definition units. Officials said vacant spaces would see large-scale plantation, and the rose garden would be redeveloped. Decorative lighting, repaired generators, a revamped open-air theatre, new benches and reconstructed toilets are also planned.
