Bokaro: SP Nathu Singh Meena inspected Rakshak Riders, launch checking drives and special drink-driving enforcements in multiple points during an inspection carried out late on Sunday. Suspicious vehicles and people were screened, and officers were told to strengthen surveillance and crime-prevention measures.The SP’s midnight inspections came as district police intensified its night-policing since past few days. On Monday, Naveen Kumar Singh, the officer-in-charge of Balidih police station, was shunted to police lines following complaints against him. A sub-inspector was also line-closed. SP said, “We are receiving complaints against him, thus he was closed.”Meanwhile, burglars targeted Vijay Kumar Mishra’s locked home in Chira Chas while he was in Vellore for treatment, taking jewellery, a TV, inverter, induction cooker and valuables worth several lakhs. SDPO Chas Vedant Shankar said, “We will soon nab the thieves.”
