Kolkata: A Dum Dum resident has filed an FIR at Behala PS, alleging that former Trinamool councillor and MMiC Tarak Singh, his son Amit Singh and associates encroached on his plot at 89, P N Mitra Brick Field Road (Behala Taratala), assaulted him, and demanded Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint to vacate the property.The complaint states the 75-year-old owner went to the site around 12.30 pm on June 17 to confront the accused after discovering the alleged takeover, when he was allegedly slapped and kicked, then threatened with a firearm while being told he would be killed if he did not pay.Police said that this was the first post-poll FIR naming Tarak and Amit Singh, and a case has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (including intimidation, extortion, and causing hurt) along with Arms Act provisions. A special team has been formed to trace CCTV footage and question the accused.
