Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Sunday flagged off the Khatipura (Jaipur)-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express through videoconferencing from Lok Sevak Awas in Patna.The inaugural programme was also held at Khatipura in Jaipur, where Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the train.Describing the launch as a historic moment for Bihar, Choudhary said the new service would strengthen rail connectivity between Darbhanga, the Mithila region and Jaipur. He said the train would boost cultural and economic ties between Bihar and Rajasthan while providing passengers with a faster and more convenient travel option.Choudhary said the railways had witnessed significant expansion under PM Narendra Modi over the past 12 years with improvements in infrastructure, new train services and passenger amenities. He added that Bihar had benefited from several major railway projects during this period.The CM said the locomotive factory at Marhaura had produced more than 835 railway engines since 2016, highlighting Bihar’s growing contribution to the railway sector and the capabilities of its skilled workforce.
