Dhanbad: A delegation of candidates, who cleared the Home Guard recruitment process, met deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan on Friday and urged the district administration to expedite their pending appointments.Candidates claimed despite the completion of recruitment exercise and publication of merit list, the appointment is pending. Representing the delegation, Deepa Kumari informed the DC that the recruitment process in Dhanbad was conducted between April 6 and April 27 this, after which 1,190 candidates were declared successful. The merit list was officially released on June 8, but nearly a month has passed without any further progress towards appointments.The candidates said the unexpected delay has created uncertainty and frustration among those selected. Many aspirants had pinned their hopes on the recruitment and reportedly turned down other employment opportunities after qualifying for the Home Guard posts. With the appointment process still pending, they claimed to be facing financial hardship and mental stress.Ranjan assured them that the administration would take necessary steps to expedite the process. He said, “The matter is being treated on priority, and all remaining procedures will be completed in accordance with the laid down rules.”
