KOLKATA: A football match turned tragic in Baruipur on Monday evening when a 17-year-old boy was allegedly hacked to death following a dispute over the game’s result.The deceased, identified as Prasenjit Biswas, was attacked with a sharp weapon by three youths after his team won the match, police said.According to local residents, the match was held at Sitakundu ground in Baruipur, where two local teams faced off.After Prasenjit’s team emerged victorious, he reportedly became the target of the rival group.While returning home, the three accused allegedly surrounded him and assaulted him with sharp weapons, leaving him grievously injured.Locals rushed the bleeding teenager to Baruipur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.News of his death triggered tension in the area, with residents staging a road blockade outside the hospital demanding justice.Police have detained three suspects and launched an investigation into the incident.
