AIIMS-P hosts training on newborn safety

Patna: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna on Thursday inaugurated a two-day national master training programme aimed at reducing preventable healthcare risks for newborns.The workshop on the ‘Safe newborn and child care patient safety module’ has brought together 57 faculty members, medical officers and nursing officers working in neonatal intensive care units across the country, including participants from AIIMS Patna, AIIMS Kalyani, AIIMS Deoghar, govt medical colleges and district hospitals.The programme aims to create a pool of certified master trainers who will replicate the specialised training at their institutions.Health department secretary Kumar Ravi, the chief guest, appreciated AIIMS Patna for leading the initiative. AIIMS Patna executive director and CEO Prof. (Brig.) Dr Raju Agarwal said excellence in neonatal care was inseparable from patient safety.
