Ranchi: Police officers heard 193 grievances during the ‘Jan Shikayat Samadhan’ programme organised across all police stations and outposts in Ranchi district on Wednesday. Of these, 89 complaints were resolved on the spot, while the remaining cases were taken up for further inquiry and action, a statement said.Seven complaints, related to crimes against women, harassment, theft and assault, were considered serious enough for immediate legal action, leading to the registration of FIRs and the start of investigation.SSP Rakesh Ranjan attended the grievance hearing at Doranda police station, while other senior officers visited 49 police stations in the district as per a prescheduled roster to interact directly with complainants.The public grievance redressal programme started in the district on July 1 to provide residents with quicker access to senior police officers and ensure time-bound disposal of complaints.
