Patna: The Grand Alliance (GA) on Wednesday held a crucial meeting at the RJD state headquarters to chalk out it’s campaign strategy for the upcoming Bankipur Assembly byelection. The meeting was chaired by former minister and MLA Ramanand Yadav and witnessed the participation of senior functionaries from all constituent parties of the alliance.Addressing the gathering, RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal expressed confidence that the Grand Alliance would end the BJP four-decade dominance in the Bankipur constituency. He urged party workers and alliance partners to work in close coordination and intensify campaigning to ensure victory.Chairing the meeting, Ramanand said the people of Bankipur are politically aware and that the byelection would witness a direct contest between GA and the BJP. Rejecting the possibility of any significant third front, he stressed the need to strengthen the campaign at the ward level through extensive door-to-door outreach. GA candidate Rekha Gupta alleged that the BJP had become arrogant and asserted that voters were prepared to give the party a decisive response in the by-election. She expressed confidence that the alliance’s united efforts would resonate with the electorate.Functionaries from the alliance’s constituent partners also reaffirmed their commitment to a coordinated campaign. Those present included CPI (ML) MP Sudama Prasad, legislative council member Shashi Yadav, former Congress candidate Kumar Ashish, IIP functionary Khushbu Rai, RJD national general secretary Jay Prakash Yadav, state general secretary Ranvijay Sahu, and several other senior functionaries and workers.
