Ranchi: The court of additional judicial commissioner (AJC) on Tuesday sentenced 10 persons, including key accused, to nine years’ rigorous imprisonment each in the May 2024 Xtreme Sports Bar and Grills X disc jockey (DJ) murder case, and imposed Rs 75,000 fine on each convict.DJ Sandip Pramankik, who worked at the bar, was shot dead allegedly by main accused customer Abhishek Singh on May 26, 2024. The incident followed a clash between a group of customers and the bar bouncers over leaving the premises at the prescribed closing time.The convicted persons were identified as Abhishek Singh, Md Samiruddin, Pratik, Mrityunjaya Kumar, Prakash Kumar, Diwakar Upadhyay, Ashok Kumar Singh, Alok Diwa, Pankaj Kumar, and Sunil Kumar, all residents of Ranchi district. Abhishek was arrested from his native located under the Alipore police station area in Gaya district of Bihar.The court of AJC Shailendra Kumar sentenced the nine guilty under Sec 304 (Part II) of the IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each. It also sentenced the convicts to three years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on each under sections 27 and 35 of the Arms Act. The sentences will run concurrently. Also, 60% of the fine paid by the convicts should be given to the victim’s family.On Monday, the court had convicted all 10 under the relevant legal provisions. Their bail bonds were cancelled and they were sent to judicial custody.
