Kolkata: A man and his son were allegedly hacked to death at a Rajarhat construction site after a property dispute escalated into violence. The man’s daughter-in-law was critically injured when she tried to intervene. The deceased were identified as Mozaffar Mistri (55), and his son Bapi (26). Bapi’s wife Hasnuara Bibi has been admitted to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital. Two brothers, Mintu and Chontu Mistri, were arrested and the bodies were sent for postmortem examination. According to cops and locals, the dispute centred on a few cottahs of land near Bagjola canal in Chapna that Mozaffar allegedly purchased from his sister and began construction of a house. Mozaffar’s brother Matabbar and his sons Mintu and Chontu allegedly accused him of encroachment.“The two brothers hacked the father-son duo to death with an axe,” alleged a relative, Shauqat Molla.“We are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident,” an officer said.
