Kolkata: Spells of rain have damaged stretches of city roads so much that Kolkata Traffic Police has asked civic agencies — especially Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and the state PWD — to repair them. Cops have sent an initial list of battered stretches to KMC. Cops said these stretches are slowing traffic and might lead to accidents, especially for two-wheelers. “Now we are preparing a more detailed report,” an officer said.According to the cops, though the KMC and other agencies have begun some repairs, complaints keep coming in about specific stretches in areas like port, East Kolkata, Behala and Jadavpur.
