Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) on Friday appointed its examination controller, Manoj Kumar, as principal-in charge of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Patna City. The university also appointed Saista Anjum Noori as head of the postgraduate Urdu department.PPU registrar Abu Bakar said the appointments were part of routine academic and administrative arrangements. Manoj Kumar will continue to serve as examination controller while discharging his additional responsibilities as principal-in charge of the college.In a separate development, PPU vice-chancellor Upendra Prasad Singh handed over pension payment orders (PPOs) and retirement benefits to two senior teachers on their superannuation.The retiring teachers were Kalanath Mishra of the Hindi department at A N College and Mohammad Abbas, head of the PG Urdu department.The vice-chancellor appreciated their contributions to the university and higher education. Abu Bakar said the timely settlement of retirement dues reflected the university administration’s commitment to the welfare of its teaching and non-teaching staff.
