Kolkata: A day after Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said that a section of party workers was engaging in corruption, senior BJP neta and state panchayat minister Dilip Ghosh said extortion culture can’t be ended overnight.“This (extortion) culture cannot be ended overnight. We have asked the police to take action against those engaging in extortion. They won’t see any political colour. Those who used to extort people earlier, have now started hobnobbing with BJP workers. We have members who are getting attracted to easy money,” Ghosh said.He added that the party was vigilant. “Those who tortured people earlier are trying to get close to our party workers. There have been discussions about this within the party. We shouldn’t forget why people changed the govt. Party workers should not only distance themselves from such people but punish them too,” he said.A
