Hazaribag: A 30-year-old man was killed in a lightning strike in Lawalong block of Chatra district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sanjay Bhuiyan, a resident of Chani village. Sanjay, his family members said, went to cover his tomato crop during a spell of rain when lightning struck him. Sanjay was taken to Chatra Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.“The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination,” Chandan Kumar, officer in-charge of Lawalong police station, said.In another incident, a homeopathic practitioner was killed after being struck by lightning in Barkagaon on Wednesday. Dr. Jhaman Prasad was struck by lightning while ploughing his field. He was taken to a hospital in Barkagaon, where doctors declared him dead. “The body was sent to Hazaribag Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination,” Deepak Kumar Singh, the officer in-charge of Barkagaon police station, said.
