Pakur man held for killing wife, mother-in-law

Dumka: A migrant worker of Dangapara village was arrested on Thursday on charges of murdering his wife and mother-in-law at his in–law’s home located at Jhenagaria village, both under the Littipara police station limits in Pakur district the night before. The incident happened in front of the couple’s three minor children, police said.The accused was identified as Abras Ansari, 25, while the victims were identified as his wife Gulchehra Bibi, 22, and mother-in-law Menja Bibi, 45, police added.Quoting the couple’s seven-year-old daughter, officer in–charge of the Littipara police station, Vivek Kumar, said, “The accused reached his in-law’s home on Wednesday night from his place of work in Maharastra and got involved in an argument with his wife and mother-in-law over a domestic issue. As the dispute escalated, Ansari allegedly took out a knife and repeatedly stabbed both the women in front of their two daughters and a three-month-old infant boy.”“Hearing the children’s cries for help, the neighbours arrived at the scene and witnessed the bodies lying in a pool of blood. The bodies were sent to the Pakur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. The accused was apprehended from his Dangapara home on Thursday,” the OC added.Pakur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Kumar Gaurav said, “The accused husband has been arrested and the murder weapon seized.”
