The spot where Sunil Birhor was hacked to death
Hazaribag: A 25-year-old man was hacked to death under Ichak police station limits of the district in the intervening hours of Wednesday and Thursday, police said. The deceased was identified as Sunil Birhor. The accused, identified as Vijay Birhor, 27, was arrested hours after the incident.Both are residents of Sijhua Birhor Tola village and hail from Birhor community, a particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG). Police said Vijay hacked Sunil to death with an axe following an argument. “ A case has been registered and further investigation is underway,” Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar said. Sunil’s body was sent to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital in Hazaribag for post-mortem examination.
