Two charred to death in Giridih
Patna, Feb 17 (IANS) Two teachers lost their lives, and 16 others were injured, including 11 school students and five teachers, in a tragic road accident in Rohtas district, Bihar, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Bokaro: Two people were charred as three trucks turned into a ball of fire following a collision on NH-19 under Dumri police station limits of Giridih district. The incident took place near Kulgo when a speeding truck, coming from Bagodar, rammed two stationary trucks which were parked next to the road. The impact triggered a sudden blaze that quickly engulfed all three vehicles, both carrying commercial goods including coal and jaggery.Police said the drivers and the helpers of the stationary trucks were resting inside their cabins at the time of impact. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot after information was received by local authorities. Teams from Dumri police station, along with senior officials including Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sumit Kumar, doused the fire after several hours. “Two bodies were recovered from one truck and are believed to be of the driver and his helper. We are trying to ascertain their identities,” Kumar said.Rajendra Kumar Mahto, an inspector at Dumri police station, said, “The extent of damage will be assessed after complete clearance of the site. Preliminary investigation suggests a high-speed collision led to the fire. A probe is underway,” he said.
