Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday called on former CM and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar at his official residence at 7, Circular Road, ahead of his Independence Day address on Aug 15. Choudhary later described the meeting as a courtesy call in a post on X, but its timing has triggered political speculation over possible major policy announcements during his address.According to sources, Choudhary briefed Nitish on the proposed announcements during the meeting. The two also discussed the state govt’s upcoming development plans, welfare initiatives and governance roadmap. The meeting assumes significance as Choudhary is expected to outline key initiatives in his first Independence Day address as CM.JD(U) national working president Sanjay Jha was also present at the meeting, which lasted around 30 minutes.
