Patna: The Patna high court has recorded a major increase in monthly case disposals since acting chief justice Sudhir Singh assumed office on July 12.The high court registry disposed of 17,107 cases within a month, including 3,757 civil cases, of which 2,850 were writ applications, and 13,350 criminal cases, including nearly 12,000 bail matters.Senior advocate and Bihar State Bar Council president Ramakant Sharma praised judges and advocates for their role in the achievement. He said he expected a similar pace in disposing of civil contempt matters, which have been pending for a long time.
