Buxar: A 28-year-old farmer died of electrocution while irrigating his paddy field at Kasiya village under Dumraon police station area in Buxar district on Wednesday.The deceased was identified as Diwakar Singh alias Laddu, son of the late Markandey Singh.According to police, Diwakar had gone to his field on the eastern outskirts of the village to operate an irrigation pump when he came into contact with a live electric wire and suffered a fatal electric shock.The incident plunged the family into grief. Diwakar, the younger of two brothers, had been helping manage the household after the death of their father. His cousin, Chandan Kumar Singh, who is also the sarpanch of Kasiya panchayat, described him as a promising young man.Dumraon SHO Sanjay Sinha confirmed the incident and said the body was sent to Buxar Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
