Delhi Police Detain 150 at Jantar Mantar Protest Over Reservation Reforms

New Delhi: Around 150-200 people were detained by Delhi Police from the Jantar Mantar protest site Sunday as several people gathered in response to social media posts calling for a protest over reservation reforms. Police said no permission had been granted to any individual or organisation for protest or gathering at the site. Police warned people against assembling based on “misleading” social media posts. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS, which replaced Section 144 of CrPC, are already in force in New Delhi district, police said.
