Patna: The renovated Patliputra sub-post office was inaugurated on Monday as part of the postal department’s nationwide drive to modernise post office infrastructure and improve public services.The Patliputra facility was among 14 renovated post office buildings across the country inaugurated virtually by Union communications minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia. During the programme, the department also launched the revamped Dak Seva App and Dak Mitra App to make postal services more accessible.Digha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia said the upgraded post office would provide residents with improved facilities and a more convenient service environment. Patna mayor Sita Sahu said the renovation would enhance citizens’ experience while integrating traditional postal services with digital facilities.Chief postmaster general of Bihar circle Shashi Shalini Kujjur said the department is working to transform post offices into modern, citizen-centric service centres through better infrastructure and efficient service delivery.According to the Bihar Postal Circle, the renovated post office features improved utilisation of space and a queue management system to streamline services. The upgraded facility is expected to enhance access to postal, financial and digital services for residents.
