Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday launched the ‘Bihar Vidya Saathi’ app to provide round-the-clock academic support to nearly three lakh students in 700 ‘Saraswati Vidya Niketan’ model schools across the state. He described it as a unique govt initiative, possibly the first of its kind in any state.Students of classes IX to XII can log into the app, receive an OTP and access one-to-one live tutoring from 75,000 teachers assigned to the platform. The free service will be available 24×7, allowing students to seek help with academic queries at any time.The CM said the app would also offer AI-based digital study material and help students prepare for Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) and competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET.“This is a significant initiative aimed at providing quality education and proper guidance to children,” Samrat said, adding modern artificial intelligence tools would strengthen students’ conceptual understanding and provide opportunities for unlimited study and practice.The system has initially been introduced in 700 schools and will later be extended to other schools across the state.A short film demonstrating the app was screened at the launch. Students Jahanvi and Jia of Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, demonstrated its features.Deputy CMs Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, education minister Mithilesh Tiwari, principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, education department secretary Rajiv Roshan and BSEB chairman Thiyagarajan SM were present.
