Ranchi: Leader of opposition Babulal Marandi on Tuesday reiterated his support for aspirants protesting alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations and led BJP workers while meeting the Sadar circle officer, accusing the district administration of acting selectively against the protesters. The action followed clashes reported during a march organised last week by the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch. The administration subsequently lodged cases against several protesters over the incident, which allegedly involved JMM workers.Addressing the media, Marandi claimed that cases had been filed against students while no action was taken against those who allegedly disrupted the march. He said govt officials should act in accordance with the law and remain impartial.Marandi also alleged that the magistrate deployed during the protest had acted in a biased manner. BJP claimed that JMM workers disrupted the demonstration and misbehaved with some participants, including women. He urged officers to register FIRs against those found responsible after an inquiry. He said the party would intensify its protest if action was not taken. On Aug 24, Marandi had issued a similar warning after visiting Kotwali police station along with party workers to support a woman protester. BJP has sought a fair investigation into the clashes and equal action against all those involved.
