Patna: A 45-year-old man was killed following a clash between two families over a land dispute in Jamalpur village under Bikram police station area in Patna district on Wednesday morning, police said.Police received information about the incident around 8.15am and reached the spot. According to Paliganj SDPO-II Pankaj Kumar Sharma, the dispute between the two sides turned violent, during which Chandra Bhushan Yadav sustained injuries and died.Saraswati Yadav alias Satish Yadav has been identified as the main accused, while Devendra Yadav, Akash and Aryan, who are from the same family, have also been named in the case, the SDPO said.The police inspected the spot and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also examined the crime spot and collected evidence.“The deceased’s body has been sent to a govt hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s father, Baikunth Yadav, and further legal action is underway. All the accused named in the FIR are absconding and raids are being conducted to arrest them,” Sharma said.Sub-Inspector Varun Kumar said the incident took place around 7am when Chandra was working in his field, in the meantime a group of people arrived, following which a fight broke out.“The victim was allegedly pushed to the ground during the assault. He was taken to a primary health centre in Bikram but he died while being taken to the hospital,” he said.The SI added that the accused and the deceased were reportedly members of the same extended family and had a longstanding dispute over land.
