Cops trace Delhi boy and Uttar Pradesh girl

Kolkata: GRP rescued a 13-year-old girl, who was reported missing, from the Burdwan railway station following a coordinated multi-state operation with Uttar Pradesh police.The minor reportedly went missing from a neighbourhood under the Shalimar Garden Police Station jurisdiction in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, last month. As police started their operation to track her, they found her location constantly changing. Police said she travelled through different states to evade detection, making the pinpointed intervention by platform duty officers at the Burdwan station critical. GRP officers recovered the minor, along with a 17-year-old boy, a resident of Anand Parbat area in central Delhi.Police said the boy, the son of a businessman, had apparently attempted to impress the girl, who came from a family of modest financial means, with promises of his affluence before convincing her to travel with him.Following the completion of legal and administrative formalities, the Burdwan GRP sent both the youngsters to the protective care and custody of Childline, East Burdwan. Uttar Pradesh Police was notified about the recovery, and a team from Ghaziabad was dispatched to Burdwan for official custody.
