A ferry boat named Anvari broke down mid-sea near Gateway of India.
MUMBAI: A mishap was averted at the Gateway of India on Thursday night after a ferry boat broke down mid-sea. It was towed by another ferry boat and all 38 people onboard were brought to shore safely. No untoward incident took place.The incident occurred around 8.30pm when the ‘Anvari’ ferry, which had left for a half an hour joyride from the Gateway of India, broke down suddenly while returning. The boat was stranded about 1.5 nautical miles away from the shore.There were 38 people on board, including 34 passengers and four crew members. Police found that another ferry boat, ‘Azad Hind’, near the stranded boat and which towed the stranded ferry to safety.
