Madhubani: Acting on the directions of DM Anand Sharma, construction of two additional classrooms has begun at New Primary School in Ram Sagar Tol, Bisfi block, at a cost of around Rs 15 lakh.The foundation stone was laid on Monday by block pramukh Rita Kumari and block development officer Basant Kumar Singh. Sharma had inspected the school during an earlier visit to the block and directed officials to improve basic infrastructure so students’ education was not disrupted.Kumari said children’s studies should not suffer under any circumstances and immediate alternative arrangements were being made for schools without buildings or land.Singh said creating a safe and conducive learning environment was a priority of the block administration. He said schools’ basic requirements were being reviewed regularly and officials had been directed to inspect institutions and ensure essential facilities.The district administration has also sought detailed reports from headmasters of govt schools on 11 points, including availability of buildings and infrastructure, particularly at schools without buildings or land. The information will help assess requirements and prioritise facilities.Local villagers and parents welcomed the initiative.
