Bokaro: Police on Tuesday seized 1,080 cans of beer, allegedly being transported illegally from Purulia in West Bengal to Chas, from an SUV under Pindrajora police station limits on Tuesday. The driver and another occupant of the vehicle managed to flee.Police said the vehicle was intercepted near Birsa Basa under the Sector 12 police station area during a vehicle-checking drive which had been launched following a tip-off. “An FIR against the owner of the vehicle and another person has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Excise Act, 1915,” Chas ASP Vedant Shankar said.
