Jamshedpur: A 26-year-old contract worker died in an accident at a Tata Steel’s Tinplate project site in Jamshedpur on Friday, police said. He was identified as Karan Kumar. The incident occurred during maintenance operation on a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) at the site. Tata Steel said the incident was under investigation and details were being ascertained. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic fatality at the company’s Tinplate project site involving a contract worker. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time,” the company said in a statement.
