Hazaribag: Police on Friday busted an organised motorcycle theft racket, arresting seven accused and recovering 17 stolen motorcycles, an e-rickshaw and two mobile phones. SP Aman Kumar said, “The breakthrough came after a tip-off, following which a special team led by Barkagaon SDPO Amit Anand, Sadar SDPO Rupak Kumar Singh and DSP headquarters Gyan Ranjan conducted raids near Charwa Dam on Thursday.”The arrested accused are Md Husain Ansari alias Danish (22), Irfan Ansari alias Chhotu (27), Md Munna alias Tahir (24), Taslim Ansari (25), Sarfaraz Alam, all from Ledari Mohalla under Pelawal OP, and Pawan Kumar Saw (27) and Fajruddin Ansari (25) from Keredari. Police said the vehicles were stolen from different locations and sold through the gang’s network. All seven have been sent to judicial custody, while further investigation is underway.
