Daltonganj: An unregistered private nursing home operating from one room and a corridor at Dangwar in Palamu’s Hussainabad subdivision was sealed by health officials in police presence on Monday.The raid on the nursing home followed a standing order from Palamu deputy commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat to curb unauthorised nursing homes. Sources said its director, Kundan Kumar Yadav, fled during the action.Dr Shashi Bhushan, deputy superintendent of Hussainabad subdivisional hospital, said the facility had run for more than a year without registration under the Jharkhand Clinical Establishment Act.A board listed Dr A S Imam of Patna, Bihar, and Dr B Dubey, BAMS. Bhushan said the display appeared suspicious as neither was found.The nursing home advertisement said normal deliveries, nebulisation, hernia repair, minor surgery, Doppler tests and appendectomies were conducted.Bhushan said no evidence showed these services were available, calling the claims misleading advertisements meant to attract unsuspecting patients.Commercial solicitation of patients is prohibited under the Act, while National Medical Commission guidelines bar doctors from advertising for commercial gain.The team found injection vials, syringes, an IV fluid pouch, an electronic blood-pressure machine and a glucometer, but no patients, doctors, nursing staff or director.Officials arranged to shift inpatients to Hussainabad subdivisional hospital, but found none.
