Weather tomorrow: IMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms in 10 states; Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP likely to remain dry

NEW DELHI: The IMD has forecast rain and thunderstorms over Kerala, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and parts of south India. Rainfall is also likely over parts of the Northeast and southern states in the coming days, with a fresh spell expected over parts of northwest India from October 5 to 7 while Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh are likely to remain dry.

Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

Delhi is likely to remain dry and sunny, with no significant rainfall expected. Winds of around 20-22 kmph are likely.The dry spell is expected to continue over the next few days, with the IMD forecasting another spell of isolated to scattered rainfall over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from October 6 to 7.

Uttar Pradesh weather tomorrow

Uttar Pradesh is also likely to remain dry on Saturday. The IMD has issued no weather warning for either east or west Uttar Pradesh from October 4 to 9 in its latest warning bulletin.There is currently no warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain or other severe weather in the state for Saturday.

Rain forecast across India

While north India is expected to remain largely dry, rainfall activity will continue over several other parts of the country.Kerala is likely to see thunderstorms, moderate rain and gusty winds during the ongoing spell, although rainfall activity is expected to decrease over the next couple of days.Odisha is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall, with the wet spell continuing through October 7. Bihar and Jharkhand may also receive isolated to scattered rain from October 5.Parts of the Northeast are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall possible over Arunachal Pradesh. Rainfall activity is expected to continue over the region through October 7.Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra are also likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall, with wet conditions continuing through October 7.

Northwest India

The latest IMD forecast indicates that rainfall activity will return to parts of northwest India from October 5 to 7. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive showers during this period, while isolated to scattered rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on October 6 and 7.The latest IMD warning bulletin has no warning for Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from October 3 to 5. Himachal Pradesh has a thunderstorm and lightning warning for October 6 and 7.

South India

Kerala and Mahe are likely to remain under a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall spell through October 7. Isolated heavy rain is possible over Kerala and Mahe from October 4 to 6, while South Interior Karnataka may receive isolated heavy rain on October 5.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over parts of southern India, while strong surface winds are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema from October 2 to 5.

Monsoon update

The southwest monsoon is in its withdrawal phase across the country. The IMD expects further withdrawal from parts of north and central India, while rainfall activity continues over parts of southern, eastern and northeastern India.For Delhi, the immediate outlook remains largely dry, with the next notable possibility of rainfall around October 6 to 8.
