Patna: District magistrate, Thiyagarajan S M, on Tuesday briefed magistrates and police officers ahead of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) written examination for assistant public sanitary and waste management officer to be held on Thursday (April 23).During the meeting held here, the DM said the administration is committed to conducting the exam in a peaceful and malpractice-free environment.Altogether 21,748 candidates across 32 centres will appear in the exams in two shifts in Patna.The district administration will deploy 44 static magistrates-cum-observers and 17 zonal magistrates, while 12 additional magistrates remain on reserve at the district control room. The DM warned that the Bihar Examination Conduct Act, 1981, will be strictly enforced, and any candidate or individual found engaging in or facilitating malpractice will face legal action.Security protocols mandate rigorous frisking at exam centre entrances and again inside the halls. Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying electronic devices, including mobile phones, bluetooth gadgets and smartwatches, as well as stationery items like whiteners or blades. Unauthorised personnel and videographers are barred from the halls. The ban on mobile phones extends to all examination staff and invigilators, with only centre superintendents permitted to carry a basic keypad phone for essential communication.The sub-divisional magistrates have been directed to impose prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, around examination premises. For coordination, the ADM (law and order) has been appointed assistant coordinator, and the district programme officer (education) will serve as the nodal officer.Monitoring will be supported by the BPSC control room and the district control room, both of which will be active throughout the examination period to ensure smooth operations and address any emerging issues.
