Man hacked to death by brother over old land dispute in Buxar
In a shocking turn of events in Banjariya village, Buxar, a family feud spun out of control, leading to the heartbreaking death of Akshaybar Yadav at the hands of his younger brother. Following a heated dispute over their family property, tragedy struck when the younger sibling resorted to violence, wielding a cleaver in the encounter.

Buxar: A long-simmering land dispute between two brothers turned fatal on Sunday when a 50-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his younger brother with a cleaver inside his home at Banjariya village under Murar police station area in Buxar district. The deceased was identified as Akshaybar Yadav.According to the police, the accused, Krishna Yadav (35), the younger brother of the deceased, allegedly attacked Akshaybar with a cleaver following a heated argument over their ancestral land, resulting in his death on the spot. The victim’s wife and son also sustained injuries while attempting to intervene.The incident occurred when the deceased’s wife, Meena Devi, was cleaning a traditional earthen stove in the courtyard. Krishna Yadav arrived at the spot and allegedly broke the stove, claiming it had been built on his share of the land, while hurling abuses. The argument soon escalated, and the accused allegedly picked up a cleaver lying nearby and attacked his brother. Akshaybar tried to defend himself, but collapsed due to heavy bleeding.Villagers rushed to the spot after hearing screams and helped take the injured to the Chougain primary health centre. From there, they were referred to Buxar sadar hospital, where doctors declared Akshaybar dead. His wife and son are currently undergoing treatment and are said to be stable.The victim’s son, Vikas Kumar, who was injured in the incident, told police that the dispute over a three-kattha plot of land had been going on for several years. He alleged that complaints had been made repeatedly at the local police station, but the matter was resolved each time through compromise.Following the incident, a team from Murar police station reached the village and began an investigation. Dumraon sub-divisional police officer Prakash Kumar confirmed that the accused has been arrested and that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, he added.
