Biharsharif: The Nalanda district administration has taken several precautionary measures for the upcoming two-day Rajkiya Shri Shri 108 Shri Sharan Niwas Baba Mahto Sahab Biennial Fair starting at Pranawam Dham under Sarmera block on April 30, where thousands of devotees from across Nalanda and neighbouring district are expected to visit. Reviewing the preparations for the festival, Nalanda DM Kundan Kumar and SP Bharat Soni directed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements for crowd management, safety, and basic amenities at the venue in Sarmera block.During the inspection, the officials emphasised that no lapses would be tolerated in essential services such as cleanliness, drinking water, lighting, sanitation, and healthcare. The DM instructed the public health engineering department (PHED) to ensure continuous water supply through tankers and the installation of additional handpumps across the fair area to provide relief to devotees in the summer heat.To strengthen security, CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the premises, and police personnel in plain clothes will also be deployed to keep a close watch on any suspicious activities. Separate entry and exit points for men and women have been arranged to manage the expected heavy footfall.Emergency response systems have also been put in place, including the deployment of fire brigade units and ambulances. Officials have been directed to remain on duty and respond promptly to any situation.Senior officials, including the deputy development commissioner, municipal commissioner, sub-divisional officer, and members of the organising committee, were present during the review meeting.
