Madhubani: Madhubani district has secured first position in the state in the survey, verification, and approval of manuscripts for digitisation under the national “Gyan Bharatam Mission”.In a high-level virtual review meeting chaired by chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Monday, district-wise progress was assessed. Madhubani district reported an impressive figure of 3,96,487 verified and approved manuscripts, significantly ahead of Gaya district, which stood second with 1,11,398 manuscripts.The achievement is being attributed to the collective efforts of the district administration, various govt departments, academicians, researchers, and active participation of local citizens.The “Gyan Bharatam Mission”, launched by the Centre, aims to identify, preserve, and digitise manuscripts across the country.Expressing satisfaction over the district’s top ranking, DM Anand Sharma appealed to the people of the district to actively participate in this heritage conservation campaign.“This success of Madhubani is the result of our collective efforts. I urge all citizens, teachers, educational institutions, and social organisations to come forward. If anyone possesses old handwritten manuscripts, please get them identified and contribute to their digitisation. This will help secure our cultural heritage for future generations,” said the DM.
