Chennai: The principal sessions court has denied bail to nine men arrested in connection with the release of actor-politician Vijay’s uncertified movie ‘Jana Nayagan’. A high-definition copy of the film was illegally released online and was circulated widely through social media.“A thorough investigation is required to unearth the entire network of conspiracy. Considering the allegations and the current stage of investigation, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners,” principal sessions judge S Karthikeyan said.A total of 21 persons are accused in the case, and the bail petitions are moved by Srinath, Sanjay, Balakrishnan, Manigandan, Ruthran, Rajesh, Prasanth, Selvam and Rajini.The movie was shared through a Google link, which was uploaded by Balakrishnan on his social media page. Later, he and his team downloaded the movie into a pen drive and shared it with other accused, the prosecution said.
