Chennai: A 13-year-old boy died after falling from the terrace of his house while flying a kite at Sevilimedu near Kancheepuram on Thursday.The deceased was identified as S Karthi, a resident of West Mada Street in Sevilimedu. Police said the incident occurred when the string of the kite got cut and Karthi ran to retrieve it. As terrace had a low-height parapet, he tripped and fell from the height of nearly 60ft.He sustained severe head injuries. Neighbours who witnessed the incident alerted his parents and called an ambulance. He was initially admitted to Kancheepuram Govt Hospital and later shifted to Chengalpet Govt Hospital for further treatment. However, he died without responding to treatment.Kancheepuram Taluk police registered a case, and further investigation is under way.
