Sasaram: At least 13 Bihar Police personnel, including 10 women constables, were injured when a rice-laden truck rammed into a police bus from behind in Rohtas district on Tuesday afternoon.One of the seriously injured women constables was later referred to a higher medical facility, while the remaining personnel are out of danger.SP, Rohtas, Roshan Kumar said all the injured were out of danger.The accident occurred near Sikthi village under Sanjhauli police station area on Ara-Sasaram road. According to officials, a Bihar Police company was travelling from Begusarai to its headquarters in Dehri when a truck carrying rice rammed into the bus from behind. Local residents and officials rushed to the spot soon after the incident and launched a rescue operation.The injured personnel were shifted to Nokha Community Health Centre, where they are currently undergoing treatment. The injured personnel have been identified as Shankar Hansda, Umesh Paswan, Savita Kumari, Sujata Devi, Pooja Kumari, Amrita Kumari, Ladli Kumari, Annapurna Kumari, Phoola Kumari, Nandani Kumari, Priyanka Kumari, Saloni Kumari, Rinku Kumari and Krishna Murari.Following information about the accident, Nokha block development officer Shefali; circle officer Madhusudan Chaurasia; Sanjhauli SHO Anuj Kumar Singh and Bikramganj SDM Prabhat Kumar reached the spot to monitor the rescue operation.Dr Ajay Pratap, in charge medical officer of Nokha Community Health Centre, said all injured personnel were out of danger. However, woman constable Nandani Kumari was referred to the sadar hospital for advanced treatment.Police have initiated a probe into the accident. Preliminary findings indicate that overspeeding and negligent driving on the part of the truck driver may have caused the accident.
