Dumka: Two men were arrested late on Thursday from Kunda police station limits of Deoghar district for allegedly planning a dacoity, police said on Friday. Four others, who were also part of the group, are absconding and a search is underway to arrest them.The arrested accused have been identified as Avinash Sah, 22, a resident of Basmata in Chandidih, and Amar Paswan, 26, a resident of Kurmatand. A country-made gun, two cartridges, mobile phones and motorcycles were seized from them.Police said the duo was arrested in a raid which was carried out Chandidih -Sarkanda forest based on a tip-off about the assembly of six men who were plotting to commit a crime.Deoghar SP Praveen Pushkar, who was leading the raid, said four others escaped by taking advantage of the dark and dense forest. “Raids are underway to arrest the absconding suspects, while police are also verifying the criminal history of the entire gang. During interrogation, the duo confessed that the group gathered to plan a dacoity. Police also said the gang has been involved in several cases of dacoity, robbery and snatching in the past,” Pushkar said.
