Ranchi: Two peddlers were arrested from Bengali Tola in Ranchi district on Friday. SP (rural) Gaurav Goswami identified the accused as Raja Shivdutt, 29, and Asif Khan, 24.He said police seized 15 grams of brown sugar, Rs 1.70 lakh in cash, two weighing machines and mobile phones from them.Goswami said, “Acting on a tip-off regarding the sale of brown sugar by peddlers in Tamar area, a team raided the house of Shivdutt and arrested him along with Khan. Police had to chase Khan before he was caught.”The SP said the drugs were recovered from Shivdutt’s house. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police said further investigation is under way to trace their supply network.
