25 school teams compete in Patna heritage quiz

Patna: Twenty-five teams of schoolchildren from across Patna district participated in a district-level heritage quiz at Vidyapati Bhawan here on Saturday.Organised by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (Intach) Patna chapter, the quiz featured students of Classes 7 to 10 and tested their knowledge of India’s cultural and historical heritage.Students from schools including DPS, Litera Valley, St Karen’s International School, Don Bosco Academy, Army Public School Danapur, St Dominic Savio, Patna Convent, Indradev Gyanpeeth and Al-Heera Academy participated in the competition.Chief guest Vivekanand Jha, president of Chetna Samiti, urged students to learn about and value their heritage, saying it connects them with the past.Intach Patna chapter co-convener Umesh Chandra Dwivedi highlighted Patna’s nearly 3,500-year history and its tradition of people from different faiths living together and contributing to its cultural heritage.Intach Patna chapter convener Bhairav Lal Das said the organisation conducts quiz competitions, heritage walks and art competitions to encourage children to engage with heritage and conservation.The quiz was conducted by Rachna Priyadarshini. Each participating school sent four students, who were divided into two teams. The winning teams will advance to the state-level round and subsequently compete at the national level.Ten students qualified for the oral round of the competition.
