3 arrested for gang-rape of Nepalese woman in Aurangabad

Patna: Three people, including two autorickshaw drivers and a minor, were arrested in Aurangabad district for allegedly gang-raping a 20-year-old Nepalese woman on July 21.According to the victim’s complaint, a minor boy, her neighbour, took her and her two children out on the pretext of showing them the city. He was accompanied by two auto drivers, Jitu alias Pali and Abhishek Kumar. Instead of taking them around the city, the trio allegedly took her to a dilapidated house, claiming they would show her some ruins.The woman alleged that she was raped there and assaulted when she resisted. To keep her children occupied during the incident, the accused allegedly handed them a cellphone.After the crime, the accused allegedly dropped her near a local police station, gave her Rs 100 for food and asked her to go home, saying that her husband must be looking for her, before fleeing.Aurangabad SHO Baban Baitha said an FIR was registered on Wednesday. The victim underwent a medical examination and her statement was recorded before a court.“The accused have been sent to jail, while the minor has been sent to a remand home,” the SHO said.The victim’s husband, a Nepalese national who sells lemon tea in Aurangabad, said he married her three years ago and brought her from Nepal three months ago. He has been living in Aurangabad for the past eight years. The two children are from his first marriage, as his first wife had died.
