In photo: The well where four people died after inhaling toxic gas in Gaya
PATNA: Four people, including a man and his son, died allegedly of asphyxiation after inhaling toxic gas while repairing a motor inside a well in Bihar’s Gaya district on Friday, police said.The deceased were identified as Chamari Manjhi, his son Dilchand Manjhi, Vikas Chaudhary and Vijay Chaudhary.The incident took place in Garh Karmauni village under the Dobhi police station area.According to police, the four men died after reportedly inhaling toxic gas while they were inside the well.Chief minister Samrat Choudhary expressed grief over the deaths and directed the concerned officials to provide an ex gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
