Hazaribag: Police have arrested 44 persons, including wanted criminals and accused individuals involved in various cases, during a special district-wide raid conducted in the early hours of Wednesday.The operation was carried out on the directions of SP Aman Kumar as part of a drive against individuals wanted in cases related to theft, robbery, dacoity and other offences.A total of 30 teams, led by officers-in-charge of respective police stations, were formed for the coordinated operation. Around 117 police officers and personnel participated in the drive, making it one of the largest coordinated anti-crime operations conducted in the district in recent times.SP Kumar said, “44 accused were arrested during the raids, while 34 pending warrants were executed. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police teams conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations across the district to apprehend absconding accused, wanted criminals and persons against whom warrants had been issued.”He said similar action against wanted and absconding accused would continue in the coming days. The police also appealed to residents to share information about criminal elements evading arrest in their localities.
