666 specialist docs to boost healthcare services across Jharkhand

Ranchi: The state personnel department has sent requisition to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) for 666 specialist doctors to fill vacancies across govt hospitals in the state.“The state health department had sent the proposal to personnel department with details of our requirements, including vacancies and backlogs, for vetting. The personnel department on April 16 sent the proposal to the JPSC after roaster clearance. The move will help to address manpower shortage,” a communique issued by the state health department on Saturday read.The vacant positions include 226 physicians, 224 paediatricians, 57 anaesthetists, 28 gynaecologists, 24 surgeons and 28 radiologists among others.The recruitment will be carried out in accordance with the Jharkhand State Non-Teaching Specialist Medical Officers (Recruitment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Rules, 2015 and its amended provisions. “The requisition, along with the reservation roster sent to JPSC, is a step closer to begin the selection process soon. This large-scale recruitment is expected to address the shortage of specialist doctors in govt hospitals and enable patients to receive better treatment. It will help in upgrading manpower for delivery of quality health services in the rural areas,” an official said.
