Bokaro: An 85-year-old man died after being attacked by a swarm of wild bees in Serua village under Gawan block of Giridih district on Sunday.The deceased, identified as Dhaneshwar Yadav, sustained multiple bee stings. His family rushed him to the Gawan community health centre, where doctors provided preliminary treatment.Dr Azim Khan of the CHC said Yadav’s condition was critical and advised the family to take him to a higher medical facility. He was subsequently shifted to Belatand hospital, where he died during treatment.The incident raised concern among villagers, who said bee attacks have become increasingly frequent in the area. Rajesh Mahto, a resident, claimed that several victims have been visiting the Gawan CHC for treatment almost every day.Villagers have urged the administration to inspect areas affected by bee swarms and conduct awareness and safety campaigns to prevent further casualties.
